I am a BC Registered (BCRMTA) piano teacher
located in Vancouver. My
teaching approach is to instill a love of music that will last a
lifetime. I enjoy teaching children and adults and watching them improve their
piano skills. The benefits include goal setting, discipline,
concentration and the joy of seeing the results from their efforts.
Piano lessons provide a unique opportunity for students to learn music.
The relationship between the student, parent, and teacher is very
important. It is a team effort and it is rewarding for all to experience
the progress over weeks, months, and years.
I prepare students for
Royal
Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams and also for festivals such as the
BCRMTA Student
Performers Guild, the
Delta Community Music School Scholarship Festival, the Vancouver
Music Festival Workshop and the Kiwanis Music Festival. There are
opportunities to perform each year at recitals and playing classes. High schools
give accreditation for RCM exam completion.
Lending library for students - a DVD collection, music, and
CD's are available to my students.
I encourage students to attend concerts when possible to enhance the
learning experience. I regularly attend concerts ranging from the
Vancouver Recital
Society,
Vancouver Symphony Orchestra,
Vancouver Opera,
to pop concerts and jazz festivals.
